According to this little nugget I've found over on the beeb's website. Larger lion prides = increased ability to control prime real estate. This seems to be in keeping with other groundbreaking studies such as this one which seems to suggest that sharks hunt in territory they're familiar with.
Who the hell funds the grants for these research papers anyway? I'm also thinking of conducting my own research, It'll test the hypothesis that idiots and their money are soon parted.
